定刻どおりに開演しないことに定評がある Guns N' Roses (以下、GN'R)。
その主要因は、Axl Rose にあると言われているけど、その明確な理由はわからないよね。
今回紹介する記事では、1991年12月28日フロリダ公演にて、GN'R の開演が遅れた理由が語られているよ。

Big Rig, the DJ in question, contacted Alternative Nation and said that while the story about Axl being late because he was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is true, the fan who heard the radio show got the date, promoter and venue wrong, confusing the information on the venue with another story.
A member of the community reports that a DJ of a Tampa Bay radio station recently told a hilarious Axl Rose story. Axl has a reputation for being late to concerts, and the reason he reportedly was late for a show in the Tampa area on December 28, 1991 was that he was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The DJ was an assistant to the owner of the venue, and needless to say the owner was getting pissed. When the owner asked why Axl was being late for the thousandth time, he said: “Axl’s management said he was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, and that Axl’s attention was 100% on the movie and couldn’t be bothered.”
Rose was infamous for being late during the Use Your Illusions tour, while his bandmates were also struggling with drug addiction at the time. According to Wikipedia, The Riverport Riot was a riot which took place on July 2, 1991 at the Riverport Amphitheater (now named Hollywood Casino Amphitheater) in Maryland Heights, Missouri (near St. Louis) during a concert by the American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses. It is also known as the “Rocket Queen Riot.”

記事によれば、米フロリダ州タンパのラジオDJの証言で、当時、DJ は、会場オーナーのアシスタントをしていたんだって。
そんで、定刻を過ぎても現れない Axl について、マネジメントに問い合わせたところ、
「彼は、『ティーンエイジ・ミュータント・ニンジャ・タートルズ2』を見るのに忙しく、ライブをやる気分ではない」
と、回答されたそうな・・・。
これ、当時、会場で発表されたら、間違いなく暴動起こったよねｗｗｗ
さて、記事では、GN'R にまつわる問題がたくさんあることと、その例として 「ロケット・クイーン暴動」 のことを紹介しているよ (※後略部) 。
「ロケット・クイーン暴動」 について簡単に説明すると、公演中、無断でカメラ撮影していたファンに Axl が激怒！セキュリティに、該当者のカメラを取り上げ、つまみだすように指示をするも、セキュリティは無反応。そのことで、Axl が完全にキレてしまい、「ならオレがやったらぁ！」 って感じでアリーナにダイブし、乱闘騒ぎになってしまう。
セキュリティは、あわてて Axl を連れ戻したんだけど、完全にヘソを曲げてしまった Axl は、ライブを止めて帰ってしまう。
観客は怒り狂い暴徒化！機動隊が出動する暴動事件となった。
その時やっていた曲が 「ロケット・クイーン」 だったことから、そう呼ばれるようになったんだって。

まぁ、いろいろ問題があるお人だけど、最近は、ライブ開演が遅れる以外ってないよね？
実際、観に行った公演で、開演まで1時間以上待ったこともあるけど、そういうものだと思っていれば、別にそんな苦でもないよねｗｗｗ
ただ、開演時間についても、定刻前、定刻、遅れるって感じで、常に遅れるわけではないのが、ちょっと困るところかなｗｗｗ
