映画「機動戦士ガンダム 閃光のハサウェイ キルケーの魔女」を観てきたんだ。
そしたら、エンディングが Guns N' Roses (GN'R) のこの曲だった。
だから、ちょっと意訳してみようと思ったんだ。

Guns N' Roses の名曲を意訳してみました。
大切な記憶をそっと堀おこし、眩しかった恋の季節を懐かしむような、深くそして、ロマンチックなギター・リフが素敵ですよね。
過ぎ去った過去を懐かしみ、深く後悔する曲です。
まず、彼女と別れ話しの中で、これまで打ち明けられなかった想いを伝え、きっぱり別れようとする導入部です。
次のパートは、友人に別れたことを話してるイメージ。
主人公のせいで傷ついていく彼女を見ているのが辛かった。別れたくて別れるわけじゃないって感じ。
最後は、いざ別れるとなったけど、やっぱり諦めきれない男の女々しさが炸裂するイメージで、それぞれ意訳してみました。
曲のイメージはバッチリあったので、あまり時間がかからず意訳できました。
特にこだわったのは、下記 2か所と、No No No ... の部分です。

原詩のイメージを、上手く日本語にできたのではないかと思います。
この意訳は、(他のもそうですけど) 単語や言い回しよりも、情景を重視してやっています。
なので、原詩直訳とずれることもありますが、この意訳については、原詩ともそこまで離れていないと思うのですが、いかがでしょう。
「No, no, no, no, no, no, no」は、意訳の際、文字にしなくても良かったとも思いますが、別れを望んでいたことじゃないのと、そうなってしまった後悔も文字にしたくて文章にしました。
